about my work

In October of 2005, I set up a small show of talent with my friend Meg Stallard at her home in Charleston, West Virginia. I wasn't expecting much more than people saying "oh, that's nice girls". But the enthusiasm was overwhelming and it prompted me to set out to make this a viable business.

I think of this business in 2 parts. One- the hand embroidery, a new passion of mine that I really enjoy experimenting with & finding new ways to make beautiful work. And two- the paintings, both the monogram and the custom work offers such a great way to share life with my customers. I have loved seeing the excitement and wonder on my son's face (even as an infant) as he gazed upon art of all different kinds. I think it is an extraordinary way to bring personality and color to a child's room that will help them develop an appreciation for art and of their own creativity.

I hand make each piece specifically for you. I put my most creative self into the choosing of fabrics, the style of lettering and the overall look of the design. Most importantly, I hope that my work makes you smile.

I use fine quality products in all my work. 100% cotton and linen fabrics, 100% cotton embroidery thread, and 100% cotton canvases. I am constantly researching ways to make my products as environmentally responsible as possible.
